A day in la “La Era”

We have developed a new concept of rural accommodation: Version 2.0 of Hotel Rural Era de la Corte.

Every area of our property offers you calm, a positive atmosphere, and above all the feeling that you are part of our family. From your first step through the gate, you become part of the history of La Era.

Here you will find a tour and descriptions of the communal areas, where you can make yourself at home and share stories and experiences with other travellers.

The Courtyard

The courtyard with the grand wooden gate is our reception hall, where you will be welcomed by a host of plants and flowers and enveloped in the scent of jasmine. Here, under the open sky or in the shelter of the eaves, you can enjoy the slow sunrise at breakfast or the night skies over dinner. When the weather is clear, the star gazing is spectacular, without ever leaving the house!

The Salon

When restoring the house, María Victoria and Andrés decided to add a translucent rooftop to the original smaller courtyard, transforming it into covered communal area where the light and atmosphere change throughout the day. The richly decorated walls, inviting furniture, and coloured glass doors give the room its cosy ambience. Take a look inside.

The Library

Our extensive library awaits you in the salon. Here you will find books on the history of the Canary Islands as well their flora, fauna, geography and many other topics of interest, especially about Fuertaventura. An area is reserved for guests to leave preloved books of all languages for others to enjoy after them.

The Massage Room

Situated above the winter dining room, the massage room is the perfect place to practice yoga asanas, to enjoy a massage, or simply disconnect, escape the world, and connect with yourself through meditation. We are happy to provide information on the types of massage offered on our island and to organise an appointment for the service best suited to you.

The Kitchen

The kitchen is the heart of every home, and this house - your second home -is no exception. María Victoria and Andrés moved the kitchen to the former wheat granary, it now connects the inner and outer rooms and is the meeting point for our guests. Here you’ll find all the tools you need to prepare any meal your heart desires (including a pantry and refrigerators where you can store your groceries) and… WE DO THE DISHES!

The Winter Dining Room

Between the kitchen and salon you’ll find our winter dining room which contains some of the house’s original furniture. This area is perfectly suited for anything from romantic candlelit dinners to a game of cards with friends.
